Read about author Nancy Bond. |
(This was written for a young boy about 6 who interrupts his mother after the Praise team finishes singing. However, it can easily be adapted to a mom who is making an announcement or something of that nature.) Son: (Interrupts Mom at end of song.) Mom, I need to ask you a question. Mom: Honey, now really isn’t a good time. Can I talk to you later? Son: It’s kind of important and it’s just one little question. Mom: Well, alright. I guess I can answer one question. (To audience) You don’t mind do you? Son: Where did I come from? Mom: (Shocked) Oh, well . . . You see . . . your daddy and I love each other very much . . . and . . . uh . . . we got married . . . and then uh . . . God, yeah God decided that we should have a baby . . . and uh so, I became pregnant and you started out as a tiny, tiny uh . . . and for months you grew and grew . . . and I got sick and threw up and got really sick . . . and then finally one day – on your birthday – we went to the hospital and uh . . . after a long, long time – You were born. . . . . . Whew!
Son:
(Speaking slowly as if a bit confused by her long response.)

God. |
